RE: [LI] Samba not working

To get SAMBA to integrate into your network, you need to tell it what is the
authentication it can use.

If you have an NT domain, you need to configure SAMBA to be a member server

If you have a Win'95 workgroup, you can configure it to be a server like
any other

It is simple to make shares on a linux box using SAMBA that have no
authentication. All you have to do is to add a line in the smb.conf that
aliases all users to "nobody" and then grant appropriate file permissions in
the Linux File system.

In any case, why don't you send your detailed network configuration and
your /etc/smb.conf file - strip the comments.

If u have the same password for Windoze network & Linux login , then it wont
ask u for password. But if u have different passwords, when u try connecting
to linux box from any Win m/c u would be prompted for password. Just type in
u'r Linux password & u should be okay.
