The role of the Web Application Developer is to develop specific web based
applications. This will include Online Billing Systems, Ecommerce solutions,
and Order Processing Systems, Online forms, CGI scripts, Feedback forms. All
of this will involve RDBMs
Key Responsibilities:
--------------------
1. To build custom projects in PHP, Perl and MySQL for various functions on
a continuous basis for the company
2. To build various online modules on the website
3. To design preconfigured CGI scripts with HTML based interfaces
Skills:
------
For above key responsibilities listed - following skill set would be
appropriate
1. Internet knowledge: This is one of the main criteria. The candidate must
have good knowledge of various Internet protocols, must have over a years
experience with the Internet and browsing
2. Networking concepts
3. Programming: SOUND knowledge of CGI, PERL, PHP, ASP
4. RDBMS: SOUND indepth knowledge of working with an RDBMS preferable Oracle
or MySQL
5. Websites: Designing - HTML, Frontpage 98; Uploading - FTP, CuteFTP etc;
Javascript, DHTML, CSS
6. Web-servers: Apache and its configuration
7. Linux: Sound LINUX skills to work your way around for the programming

The role of the Customer Support Executive will be to take care of general
technical support such as creating accounts on the server, and taking care
of general customer doubts and problems with regards to web hosting. He will
also assist in certain complex support queries where he may have to do some
research work.
Key Responsibilities:

1. To reply to and attend all support email, phone, ICQ etc queries and
finish of necessary support task within that working day itself
2. To compile manual, FAQ and other support database for assistance of
clients so that most common queries maybe answered thus - on a continuous
basis
3. To promote website of company on the Internet to various Search engines
on a regular basis as directed by Web Promotions Manager within deadlines as
set
Skills:

For above key responsibilities listed - following skill set would be
appropriate
1. Internet knowledge: This is one of the main criteria. The candidate must
have good knowledge of various Internet protocols, must have over a years
experience with the Internet and browsing

3. Programming: average knowledge of CGI, database etc would be an advantage

tremendous experience (atleast 3-4 years) in specifically managing a team of
technical people and programmers.
Key Responsibilities:

1. To assist in setup and training and usage of the latest technologies in
the web hosting, web applications and web services business.
2. To solve very complex problems that crop up during normal business
3. To think, brainstorm and assist in the same for diversifying into new
business areas specifically bringing up technology issues
4. To assist in recruitment process of Technically sound people for other
roles in the organisation
Skills:
------
For above key responsibilities listed - following skill set would be
appropriate. Several years (3-4) of experience in each of these specific
technologies is necessary, and a general 7-8 yrs of experience in the
computer industry is desired
1. Internet protocols in and out
2. Indepth knowledge of Linux + sendmail, qmail, apache, including OS
internals
3. Indepth knowledge of Windows NT and various networking protocols
4. Knowledge of diverse special topics like Clustering etc
5. Networking: deep knowledge and implementation
6. RDBMs: Sound knowledge of 1 to 2 RDBMs and personal handson experience of
atleast 2 yrs, out f which atleast 1 year is specifically for the web
7. Programming: Programming experience of atleast 5-6 yrs out of which
atleast 2 yrs is specifically for the web using web technologies like CGI,
Perl, PHP, Java, Javascript etc etc
8. Web knowledge: Everything abt web designing like HTML etc including
keeping abreast of all latest standards like XML, and propreitory
technologies like DHTML etc
9. Indepth knowledge of Apache and other web servers
10. Hands on programming experience in diverse languages like Perl, C++,
Java, VB, PHP, VBScript, JavaScript, ActiveX, DCOM, Corba etc
