hi,

one of my colleagues has installed Redhat 5.2 on his P2-400 sony machine with
Matrox mga-g200AGP card with 8MB room and 10 GB disk.
now the problem is --

1) he has partitioned the disk into two parts first 5 GB for windows and
remaining for Linux. while booting the Linux, it detects and shows 10GB disk
but via cfdisk/fdisk/diskdruid it is not able to make use of more than 8 GB
space so 2 GB is kind of lost!! any solution for this problem?
i guess if the kernel detects and not the tools then may be they need to be
   updated in some manner!

2) he has a LT wintech card modem on USB port. how to make it work on Linux. i
tried creating sysmlink /dev/modem to /dev/cua2, doesn't work!

also this modem dials etc. properly via Phone dialer program on win98 but
hyperterm program fails (i checked out, even with exactly same configuration
as for phone-dialer) with the message - no dialtone present. any solution
for windows and Linux, both are needed!

Khader : if you need to forward it to any decent mailing list, please do that
favour and let me know of the solutions (or ask people to Cc a copy of replies
to me at san@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). i am not on those lists because of heavy
traffic and not being able to manage with that currently.

regards,
sandeep.
