PostScript is a "page descrition" langauge from Adobe. Basically, one
describes everything that is put on the page using this langauge. It
is a stack based language.

The advantage is that PS is device indepenedent, and a PS file will be
printed at the highest resolution of the device supporting PS.

For more info one can see comp.lang.postscript on http://www.deja.com
