There is a perl script called  'install-sendmail' that can simplify the
task of configuring sendmail. I don't remember where I had downloaded it
from, but version 4.5 that I have, says it's home page to be
http://members.xoom.com/xeer/index.html 

You need the latest version of sendmail to use this program. version 4.5
recommends sendmail 8.9.x (already present in RH6)
