Make sure you have the Xserver for the i740 card.The Xserver is available at
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/XFCom/XFCom-i740-glibc-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm
You could also download the xf86config program from
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/XFCom/xf86config-glibc-1.1.0.i386.tgz
