kde too big!!!

I have installed Linux from PCQ 5.2 CD. My PC is a 486DX4/16MB. I have a
128MB swap partition. When I tried to install kde it failed saying ...
Out of virtual memory ...
failed in new()

How big memory is OK for kde?

BTW I had earlier installed kde successfully from the earlier version i.e.
shipped with PCQ [RH5.0]
