Re: indian-isp

Hi,

Sorry to be a part of this flame, but, I am towards raju on this issue.
See, we all make spelling mistakes once in a while. I'm not saying that we
should read it a dozen times through a spell checker before posting, but
this man has a very annoying signature which goes like:

- ----
BYE. Will Keep In Touch. Plz ignore any spelling and
gramatical bugs.
- ----

What's most annonying is use of slangs/shortcuts (Plz, u, r etc.) when
they aren't necessary. And the above signature has a spelling bug in
itself.(finding it is left as an exercise).

By "experienced internet users" it is not meant for those who are into
chatting since the last 5 years, but who are probably into more
technicalities of networking, computing etc. (which raj surely is).
Anyway, the net etiquettes for irc and e-mail is different, and any
`experienced' internet user will tell you this.

Having an occasional spelling mistake is by no means a problem, but having
a apology for that in .signature file surely is. It shows how careless you
are. Plain, simple english is what we expect, and nothing more. Lately,
people (more of newbies) have come to think, that in chat/email one has
to use "u" or "r" in order to stay with the world. And don't come telling
me that's the way e-mail works. These shortcuts are for those (winduhs?)
users who only know how to use the mouse, not the keyboard. Ok, even SMTP
has a spelling bug in HELO, but i won't sue it for that ;-).

Lokesh Setia,
