yes there are some probs with sis cards/drivers but what i have found is try 
out
linux-india.org/sis/sis
i hope that would solve the prob.
I too have a prob i have freshly installed linux(redhat 6.0) and couldn't 
configure my soundcard could you please tell me how do you have configured 
your's (if you have)
the manual says to execute the command
"make xconfig"
but it says "no rules for target xconfig"
i am bit new to linux can you please sort it out
