Hello,
I think you have to add a DNS entry for the PC from which
you are trying telnet.
Otherwise add an entry in /etc/hosts file, the IP address
and a name.
The reason for the delay is that Linux is trying to resolve
the IP address with a name. After 4 to 5 minutes it decides
as failure and logs in anyway.
