The May Linux Journal has an article on Streams for Linux, which
should be of use to you.

A search on Altavista with "+Linux +Streams +LiS" will get you to the
mailing list archives, which would be in a better position to answer
your question.

The software is called "LiS" and requires minor changes to the kernel.
