RE: Sysadmin/Specialists in Hyderabad

Heh - that reminds me of something I wanted to share with you all.

17 out of the 44 people who applied for positions for the jobs I advertised
in this list (and others) a while back sent in their resumes in Microsoft
Word format - despite my clear instructions not to do so (which was part of
the testing procedure - "can the applicant follow simple/explicit
instructions?"). Several of these files were macro-virus infected.

A couple sent in RTF files (which technically aren't Word files, but are
basically non-plaintext), one sent an Excel file (!) and one (most
memorable!) sent a 1.1 MB uncompressed PowerPoint file that had just two
slides in it - both full screen graphics!

The most impressive one was the one we received almost near the end - a
short 5 line note, plain text, with two URLs in it - one of which led to a
page linking to sites designed by the applicant, and one to her biodata -
which itself was a plain .txt file.

Guys, when we talk about "Linux-related" positions, experience with MS stuff
is not a disqualification - but not being able to read plain instructions
definitely is!

'nuff said!
