IP range in DNS

Hi,

I have configured DNS on my system and its working fine. But in linux conf,
there is an option called IP range. What is this for. I've configured DNS
manually. I didn't use linux conf. What are the files linuxconf modifies
when we configure DNS using it? Can somebody please tell me?
