Odd. Maybe it's because you haven't defined native VGA support for
your VGA card. I have a line like this in my /etc/dosemu.conf in the
VIDEO section:
video { vga console graphics chipset s3 memsize 1024 }
which tells DosEmu to use direct video to my S3 card. Modify
according to taste and existing hardware.
