hello,
  now i am able to star tXwindows but still with some problems:


1. the font size is too high and only 1/4 th of the screen is visible 
at a time the images are also of size larger than the scrren
i have of size 1280*1024

2. alt +/- keys are not working


what could be the problem ?

The current version of Xfree86 is 3.3.3.1 - the same version found in
RedHat
Linux 6.0. Additionally, you will also find it on the PCQ March 1999 CD -
just run

bash /mnt/cdrom/pcq-linux/pcqupdt
