conf.modules

Hi,
I have an Opti-931 sound card which I could configure to use under =
Linux , thanks to Raj's web page.. I have had to reinstall my system a =
couple of times since and all i do now is to copy raj's conf.modules =
into /etc/ and ad1848_mixer_reroute into /sbin . My question is , how =
was the original conf.modules made in the first place. Why should i use =
somebody else's conf.modules , isnt there a way to make my own? Is it to =
be manually edited?

P.S- Prakash Advani - Chip special sometimes comes with two CD's . Is =
this the case with the Linux-special also? Is the source CD bundled?
