Ashok,

How do you expect people to take the time to respond to your question when
you did not take the time to start a new email?  The question you asked
does not have anything to do with Chetan's email (that you quoted in its
entireity).

Anyways, if by chat you mean IRC (Internet Relay Chat) - there are tens of
irc clients for Linux.  Some of the most popular include ircII, circus,
tkirc, xirc, bitchx etc.

If by chat you mean some propreitary <expletive deleted> like AOL Instant
Messenger (AIM) or ICQ, there are clients for those too.  Search in
http://freshmeat.net/
