A problem

Hello everybody

  I am using Red Hat Linux 5.2 with Kernel 2.2. I can see that a lot of
memory is been set aside as buffer & cache. On my machine it nearly puts 8
MB in cache & 500 Kb in buffer. So the performance is really suffering.
Upgrading from kernel 2.0.36 to 2.2 has helped but problem is still there.
Can anybody suggest me a workaround?
