Some doubt

Hi,

In /var/lib/rpm, there are some .rpm files. (conflictsindex, fileindex,
groupindex, nameindex, packages, providesindex, requiredby).

What are these files and what do they do?  They occupy 5.8 MB.  Can I
safely delete them?

I am using Rh5 from PCQ CD.
