Hi Sundeep,
I have AMD K6-350 MHz with VIA board . I had installed Linux(RH5.2) on my 486.
Later I simply swapped motherboard with K6/VIA combination. No problems
occurred. Also changed Trident 8900 ISA 1MB display card to Trident 9750 AGP
with 4MB that to is configured properly. So, go ahead and buy one. Mind you, If
you are going to have win95 also then get
AMD IOS patch for win 95 before anything (available at www.hwupgrades.com or on
PCQuest CD 3-4 months back).
Without this patch win95 will refuse to boot saying 'IOS subsytem error ....
system halted'. You also need to apply patches included on CD given with VIA
motherboard. I am using VIA board but you can get Asus board which is slightly
more costly but gives best performance.
