     Yes, the nisdomainname for both server and client have beent set to the same
name.

 Yes, while running it I've got an error message saying that it cannot open the
file /etc/netgroup. So, I've created one blank /etc/netgroup file and continued.
Next when I executed  ypinit -m on the master, it didn't give any error message

Yes
