Since PCQ didn;t change the RH distro in any way, and since several of my
machines run RHL 5.2 installed off the same server *and* have
linneighborhood installed, I beg to differ.

In fact, RHL 5.0 was the first Linux distro to ship with glibc - causing a
furore of its own.

What I suspect is that you downloaded a binary that was compiled to run
under glibc 2.1 - which is shipped with RHL 6.0 (and the latest Debian and
Caldera, I gather).

Since the complete RedHat Linux is glibc based since version 5.0, you
wouldn't even be able to boot your machine if glibc was missing.

And *if* by chance it is missing, it can only be because you chose not to
install it, though I wouldnt be able to understand how your machine would
work then.

Try "rpm -qa | grep glibc" and let's see what it says.

And I would also be interested in the output of

"ldd /usr/local/bin/LinNeighborhood"
