Try the Kannel WAP gateway for setting up WAP services. As for SMS services
on linux, well, we use a lot of perl (hooked up with exim) internally at bpl
mobile - on several linux boxen.
So, get yourself a bplmobile phone (if available in your city) and when
there's a tripwire alert (you mean portsentry alert maybe? tripwire is a
file checksum checker) you can send a mail to mobile-number@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -
it'll turn up as a sms on the mobile-number cellphone.
Other cellular providers also offer similar services - dunno what they run on
- you said "linux" so I chipped in :)
