Dev Stall winds up!

Folks,

At the end of the whole 5 days of Linux@xxxxxx, as group co-ord,
I'd like to add my thanks to my team who worked their collective behinds
off and kept our section going. I'd like to make the introductions and
roll out the thanks to:

First, Harish Kashyap , NIE , ILUG Mysore, who came down and made
our SVGAlib questions so trivial to handle. His plane demo suitably
attracted attention and he handled questions with ease. We have all made a
new friend and I hope Harish feels the same way too. It was great to have
an outstation member with us.

Sushant Sowmyan from PES, ILUG Blr who was our roaming consultant
on hire working with the Graphics and home sections as and when they
required help. He also very generously brought a home machine of his and
helped us out to no end. Most importantly he got his brother (Arvind) to
help out the graphics section (GIMP) - which was quite a show stopper
considering that Arvind is the youngest member of the LUG.

Sridar (Cheedu) from PES, ILUG Blr who was our second RAD person.
Given very short notice, Sridar picked up all the elements of Glade
programming and was also responsible for introducing Glimmer to the Dev
team. From time to time when the install section was getting attacked by
agressive hecklers, Sridar was sent off to solve those problems and he did
a very good job.

Sibin from PES, ILUG Blr who was our most dashing (!) member who
was spotted doing lots of developement at the Web dev center apart from
handling the VTU hordes - who all asked for ncurses information. The
number of times Sibin explained what "man ncurses" would do is truely
astounding. Hats off!

Kartik S S from PES, ILUG Blr who was our local comedian, making
life all the more happier for us with his hopeless PJ's and completely
hilarious descriptions of Sibin! Sibin and Kartik had whipped up a file
viewer using ncurses, which was a big hit(Hanish's idea!).

Mithun from PES, ILUG Blr who was our local press-person(!) hard
at work with KDevelop and QT along with Sushant. Demo's, explainations and
engrossing conversations were the staple product of Mithun. Apart from
getting LI and the development team onto Deccan Herald, Mithun's french
beard was the subject of much amazement.

Finally and most importantly Sharat Chandra, BMS, ILUG Blr who was
stand in co-ordinator, RAD person and all in all tech guy. Sharat created
a series of presentations the most impressive of which was one in which
the various sorts were being visually displayed. All this and more was
done using exactly the same RAD tools that he was demonstrating. An emacs
man, he was most happy with emacs being displayed with Kannada menus <
THIS IS ALL HANISH's FAULT! ;-))) >.

Signing off,
Madhu M Kurup
