Location of How-To's

Hi,

I'd like the default location of the How-To's on 

* Debian
* Slackware
* Caldera
* Mandrake
(I have 'em for RH and SuSE)

Pls let me know if they are installed by default in the standard
install. I want to create a "What to check before posting to the list"
page. Reply to me directly pls. 

I am planning to put in:

1. using 'man'.
2. reading how-to's.
3. checking archives.
4. recommended reading list.
5. Useful links eg. Shanu's i810 page, exocore/linux, etc.

Suggestions welcome. Again, pls reply to me directly. There's enough
traffic on the list as it is.
