Hi,
    Unless you log on by dialing (or maybe isdn) to vsnl account.. vsnl does not
allow open relay. Only the IP's vsnl allocates to you throuch dhcp (and maybe
isdn) are allowed to relay mail. I faced this problem more than a year back when I
got someones mantra account and my smtp server was del3.vsnl.net.in
    Instead try to use your ISP's smtp host to send mail
