just check out the proxy settinggs in edit becoase
linux runs squid and ur squid may not e properly
configured so say direct connection to internet rather
than through manual proxy configuration everything
will go well
2) give the command ifconfig.
if it shows lo and eth0 ok else ur ethernet card is
not resp[onding but its not tue because idf u r able
to comnnect through modedm that means its pinging u r
card so check the first one only thatnk u.
