regarding nis configuration

sir i want my nis to be prope configured the thing
which i did on client and server side i jsut wanbt to
explain u and then u 
tell me what to do apart form it
server and client 1)nisdomainname  elnet3l.com
                  2)netconfig on both end enable  nis
nd both machine have the server's server name.
server
/etc/rc.d/init.d/ypserv restart
 /etc/rc.d/init.d/yppasswdd restart
on client 
/etc/rc.d/init.d/ypbind restart
getting error (saying ypbind can not bind with
domaninname and due to this )
1)ypwhich(fails)
2)cat yppasswd(fails)
2)yppasswd (fails)

ur kind help will help me a lot
