I'm a newbee myself, but I had the same problem with the GNome dialer and
then I tried the same with the KDE dialer and it worked. I never got into
the specifications of the GNome dialer to find out why this problem popped
up. If you're in a hurry try connecting using the KDE dialer, there you
don't have to specify anything (IP address, etc...Atleast I'm sure for VSNL
dialup connection).

Whenever I try to connect to the internet my modem dials properly but
after the handshake takes place it starts redialing again.
This process continues in a loop.
Can anyone please help me out.
