Need h/w + config advice

Hi all,

   I need to setup to BSD/Linux machines to act as firewall / proxy
   servers for our connection to the net. I'll be getting a 64kbps pipe
   that I plug in via ethernet to these machines and local machines
   will dial in. Can anybody please provide me with any advice on h/w
   configuration, and s/w that'd help?
