This is kind of old and still appears to have performance problems
since all data has to be written twice. :( Havent tried it. The
advantage of ext3 is that it seems to be a layer above ext2. This makes
it relatively trivial to convert to and from existing ext2 systems. it is
still an alpha release so YMMV.
