	Some modems need ATZ,ATX, some 3rd init string, ATM0 in that
order, to  work.. check if you're sending an ATX across..and if you're
not... try sending it before you sentd the 3rd init string...  -- should
be second in your list , at the moment -- and that *might* help.
	I was having a lot of trouble with muy friend's GVC 33.6 external
. and ATX apparently fixed it all
