Do not panic or worry about this. Four months ago I got the same
problem with my "giasmd01.vsnl.net.in" account with vsnl. After a day of
tweaking and changing my settings in Navigator and fetchmail/sendmail,
the error still persisted. On day two I called VSNL help desk (5360093)
and told my problem. The person at the other side told me to wait and
tried to access my account from his machine and the answer he gave was
"Try after ten minutes, it will be working". Exactly after ten minutes,
I was downloading all my pending mails as usual.
The problem was with the VSNL machine. Good Luck in contacting VSNL.
