I disagree with Prabhu.
SAMBA is meant for exactly this purpose only.
A portion (or full) of the Linux partition can be mapped as a drive from
Windows and can be used as a File Server (just like NT or Netware).
You can run any Win95/98 based applications this way.
And, SAMBA has been benchmarked as the fastest fileserver s/w by ZDNet.
But, if you try to modify Linux files from Windows, then they need not
work from the former.
