new user in chennai

hey there all,
   This is abhi. I have joined school in 10 + 1 here recently and am a Linux
hobbyist... a newbie though... I use Redhat 5.2 , KDE , Staroffice ,
Netscape and stuff..... I am interested in trying out a new distrib. Caldera
or Debian .... which one should I choose ???
  I have to set up a LAN ..... with ISDN connectiong and distributing to 2-3
ppl over the LAN using Windows.. help me
