libgd error

Hi people,

    I have installed RH 6.0 in my machine using a slowest CD drive :-).
After installing everything while restarting, it gave me errors like

        rc.d/rc3.d/S60nfs: awk command not found 

   and  "awk command not found" for so many services.  Then I installed
gawk*.rpm mannually using "rpm -ivh".  Now everything is ok except only
one error.  ie., xargs command not found.

  But if I try to execute perl or linuxconf, it is saying 

     "error in loading shared libraries:libgd.so.1 cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory"

 and similarly libgd.so.2 also.

 How do I install libgd library.  As far as I know the system supposed to
install all the libraries that are needed. 

How do I solve this probs?  All suggestions and solutions are welcome.

NB:- I could not find any libgd rpm in the RPMS directory.
