crtbegin.o !

Hi all,
       I am trying to compile a package called RLab(a GPLed math analysis
package similar to Matlab(tm)).It is compiling everything but finally I
get a linker error as follows:
"ld: crtbegin.o not found ..aborting".
Help...........
